What is an audience?

- An audience is, a group of similar people or combinations of different groups of people.

Please list three different types of audiences there are.

- Three different types of audiances are, children, teens, and adults.

Pretend that you are giving a presentation to the following groups:

a)High school students

b)Parents

c)Business men and women

What are some topics that you would discuss with them? How do you plan to hold their attention?

- Some topcs that I would discuss with high school students would be, sports and maybe everyday things that we do in life.

For parents I may talk about schoolwork, healthy eating habits, and what us as teens talk about.

For the buisness women and men, I would talk about money, and the economy. I would hold their attention by talking about topics that woul intrest them.

Do you like presenting information? (why or why not)

- I sometimes like presenting and sometimes I don’t. I like presenting information so I can give new information to my peers, in case they don’t have it. And sometimes I get lazy and I do not wish to go up in front of my class, because even though I’m not shy, it still gets over-whelming up there.

What do you think are the key elements in a good speech?

- Good key elements in a good speech are, good posture, good eye contact, you have to be good at public speaking, you shouldn’t really be shy, and to just be relaxed when you deliver your speech.

What is difference between giving a speech about something you enjoy as opposed to something that you do not enjoy?

- The difference when giving a speech about something you enjoy, as opposed to something that you do not enjoy is, that when you give a speech about something you enjoy, you become more relaxed, because you like the topic that is give, so it makes it more durable when you speak. When you talk about something that you dislike, it makes it more difficult to stand up there and be comfortable to freely talk about your subject.

Why do you believe power point is a helpful tool to use for presentations?

- A power point is helpful, because people can see what you are talking about, there are visual aides, and it makes the audience want to pay attention to your power point. It makes sitting there more durable.

When do you think you will be using power point after high school?

- I think I will be using power point in my work, and when ever I will be giving a presentation that requires visual aid.

What struggles did you find while creating this budget sheet?
- The struggles I found while creating this budget sheet was the budget. I enjoy eating, and trying to keep the budget to 75$ was very difficult.

Why is it important to try and find the meaning behind creating a budget for yourself when you go shopping?
- It is important to try and find the meaning behind creating a budget because, it is very hard to try and keep a budget when you like eating, but you never want to over spend on food, when their are more important things in life.

Do you think that you have more of an understanding as to how expensive food can be?
I definitely now have more of an understanding of how expensive food is, because I rely on my mom to buy food, and now I see how expensive food can really be.

Did you enjoy this project and why?
I really enjoyed this project because it was fun to see how much money I will spend when I’m older, and how I need to calm down with all my eating (=

Stevie Wonder

Stevland Hardaway Judkins or “Stevie Wonder” was born on May 13th 1950. His mother remarried and later changed his last name to Morris. He was born six weeks early, so while in an incubator, he lost his eye site. His mother feared for his safety so she kept him inside. At age nine he could play the piano and other instruments fairly well, that a record label, Motown signed him and at the age of thirteen had a number one hit. He even wrote some songs for other Motown artists. In 1970 he married a former Motown secretary, Syreeta Wright however they divorced two years later. He left his Motown label the same year, but came back on his own one year later, with full control of how he recorded his music.

During the 1970′s he put out four albums that redefined the way music was listened too. Music of my Mind, Talking Book, Innervisions, and Songs of the Keys of Life. In 1973 while on tour, Stevie was in a car crash that left him in a coma for a couple of days. But in a year he was back recording. Stevie was also an activist, and he was the one who got the petition to make Martin Luther King’s Birthday a holiday in the United States. President Ronald Regan signed this petition in 1983, and when the holiday was first celebrated in 1986 Stevie was there to sing his hit single, Happy Birthday.

Stevie Wonder has won a world breaking twenty-two Grammy’s, has been the youngest person to be honored by the Kennedy Center, and the first blind recipient for an Oscar in1985 for his song, I Just Called To Say I love You. Stevie has seven children, one of which a daughter named Aisha who was in an inspiration for the song, Isn’t She Lovely ? In 2001 he married his second wife, Kai Milla Morris, and his second son, Mandala was born on Stevie’s fifty fifth birthday. On August 28, 2008 at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, forty five years where Martin Luther King Jr, gave his, I Have a Dream Speech, and when President Barack Obama accepted the nomination for President, Stevie was there to sing for him.

Stevie was an inspiration to people all around the world. He fought for African American rights, and is an inspiration for people with disabilities. Just because he was blind, that did not stop him from creating music, and winning so many awards. That is what a true person is. Stevie is blind, but that never discouraged him, instead it made him want to work harder, and he never gave up. Even with him being blind, and being in a car crash, nothing could stop him from achieving what he has achieved.

The Evil Gummy Bear.

You are cornered by an evil-looking gummy bear, in a pitch dark little room. It is blue and orange, and has half of its ear bitten off. It’s little gummy mouth has little spikes for teeth, and is holding a miniature gummy sword in its hand. You can feel it’s little gummy eyes looking at you, although you cannot be certain since it is so dark in the room, but it’s making your hands break out into a cold sweat. You feel your hands clam up, and your heart starts to pound as if it’s going to pop out of your chest at any moment. You know you have to get out but you can’t even see your hand in front of your face. You can still feel it watching you, and you just have to get out pronto. But how? You wonder, if I can’t even see my hand, how am I going to even try to escape? You are feeling discouraged and you feel defeated since there is no possible way to even get out. All of sudden you hear the gummy bear start to advance, it’s little gummy feet making squishy noises when it walks. Your heart starts to pound even more now, and you swear even the gummy could hear it. As If speaking out loud the gummy stops, and slowly turns his head to look at you. This time your are 100% positive that it can see you. Tears are starting to form in your eyes, and you wish you could get out. But it’s useless, you are trapped. The only thing you can do now is wait, and see if the gummy decides to leave and go to another room. But he is still there, his black little eyes staring at you, looking into your soul. Then all of a sudden you hear a noise, it is coming from up above you. You look up and there is an opening at the top of the dark room, and you can see some light pouring into the little room. You stare at it, until the light keeps getting brighter and brighter, out of nowhere a hand pops out of no where. It reaches into the room, and moves its hand all around searching for something. It suddenly takes its hand and finds the evil gummy and clamps him in its hand. The gummy is squirming and wiggling all over the place, wanting to escape the clasp. The light is suddenly gone, and you realize now what you’ve been trapped in, you’ve been trapped in a candy bag…….

How you managed to find yourself in a candy bag, you have no idea.

“To be right is not always popular….. to be popular is not always right”

What I think this quote means is, that whenever you talk and you make it seem that what you say is right, does not make you liked by everyone else. Just becuase you have an opinion doesn’t mean that everyone else has the same opinions as yourself. So they shouldn’t think that they are popular or that everyone should bow down to them. They should calm themselves down and not think the world agrees witht them. And being pouplar is not always the right thing to be. You can be unpopular and still have friends.

10 Things That Make Me Laugh =]

There are many things in my life that make me laugh. I basically laugh every single day, but there are 10 things that I always find myself laughing at.

1. Twilight: This movie always makes me laugh because of how awkward Edward and Bella are around each other. They can’t even like look at each other because they are way to awkwad to even be around each other, and it’s just really funny because humans don’t really act like this. (or do they ?..)

2. Tickle Me Elmo: Tickle Me Elmo is this huge Elmo doll that I have, that when you press his stomach, he dissolves into HUGE laugh attacks, and come on ! How can a red doll clutching its stomach and laughing, not make you instantly laugh ?! He gets to me every time. I once sat there for like 15 minutes just staring at him and laughing the whole time.

3. Susan Perls: Susan, is one of the funniest people I know. Every time I’m with her, she’s just always making me laugh. We can talk about really random things, and I will just burst out of laughing. She is so random and it just cracks me up. Once we were in Stop&Shop and there were random bouncy balls, so she decides to start playing volleyball with it. So if you were to walk in, all you would see is two teenage girls playing volleyball like two creepers. I know that whenever I’m with her, I can always count on laughing.

4.Daisy Chase: Daisy is one of my sister’s who always makes me laugh. She’s always impersonating people, making jokes, or just saying random things. She’s a natural born comedian and she can always make me laugh everyday. Whenever I’m with her, she just has to make me laugh.

5. The chubby girl from YouTube: This girl who is dancing along to the “peanut butter jelly time” song, always 100% make me crack up with laughter.

6. Miss Swan: Miss Swan is a character on the show MAD tv. She cracks me up because when she’s talking to people it’s as of she doesn’t understand what they are telling her . She also has an accent which is a plus on making it really funny.

7.Shege, Emily, Camilla, & Amanda: These four girls I have known for a really long time, and they always make me laugh. They enjoy making impersonations of people and it’s really funny because they never stop cracking jokes, and I have to laugh. They also do the stupidest things that only we could ever understand. Once when we were in girl scouts back in the fourth grade, Camilla Emily and I would go camping and we would get into so much trouble because we could not stop laughing the entire three days we were there.

8. Lenny Mendez: For some odd reason everytime I try to give Lenny a compliment he ends up blushing and telling me to stop. And for some reason that always makes me laugh, because I have embarrassed him, and it cracks me up.

9. Angie Martinez. Angie is one of my best friends who whenever we hang out, we cannot stop laughing. She could just be sitting down and out of nowhere she will burst into a spaz attack from laughing at nothing in particular. You should also see the way she laughs. Once you’ve seen that, there is no way you could not laugh, while she’s laughing. She has this thing that when she starts laughing, she has to move her body all over the place. She rotates in circles, puts her head on your shoulder, it’s as of her body is out of her own control.

10. Horton Hears A Who: This move is beyond hilarious because of this one character called Katie. Katie is the funniest little porcupine thing in the movie, and she’s so funny. She is like a little girl who has dreamed up her own little world, and she the proceeds to tell it to the other animals in this jungle. She also runs into things, and shows the animals her chewed up food. She is so funny that whenever I see her I have tears pouring out of my eyes, from laughing so hard.

Convicted Child Killer, Dies In Jail.

In Florida, a death row inmate has finally passed away. John Evander Couey accused of abducting and killing nine year old Jessica Lunsford, has died at the age of 51 on September 30. John Covey has been in jail since August of 2007 when he was found guilty of kidnapping and murder in the first degree, and was sentenced to death. On the night of February 23, 2005 Jessica was snatched from her Florida home, and taken with only her blue dolphin to accompany her. Three weeks later, her body was discovered at Covey’s sister’s home, where she lived not too far from the Lunsford’s. Jessica’s body was found tied in garbage bags with wire wrapped around her whole body, clutching her dolphin. It was said in the autopsy that Jessica had been buried alive, and she was dead within five painful agonizing minutes. It was also reported that she had tried to escape and you could see the holes that she had managed to make in order to try to escape =/.

When the police were investigating they came to a conclusion that Jessica was kept in the house for a while, before Couey killed her. When the police came around to investigate it is said that Couey got very suspicious and nervous when dogs were brought into the investigation. He got all defensive and that’s when detectives decided that he was a suspect that needed to be brought in for questioning. They then discovered that Couey was the one who had killed Jessica and he was then put under arrested and convicted of Jessica’s murder. During the trial it was said that Couey showed no emotion and used a lot of vulgar language and was very crude, when describing the sexual assault. He was then found guilty, and sent to jail, where he would be on deathrow and would await his execution. Unfortunly that day never came, and he died before his execution.
